- Orion™ is a satellite communication system used between salvage facilities looking for parts. It uses a modem to send requests and messages that search a database (RTS) on Car-Part's end and quickly get a response back via a satellite receiver from the other recycler. Like Car-Part's F-Key searches, the search sequences can be personalized to your preferences. When combined with Checkmate®, you can quickly search your own inventory while viewing other facilities' requests. Orion even uses a matching feature to quickly filter through parts you already have in your system, allowing you to proactively respond to others' requests. Anytime another user “hits” on your inventory when doing a request, you are also notified via an automated message.
- When searching for a part that you don't currently have in your inventory, you will receive an automated response with available matches from other recyclers. You can use this response to quote and sell the part that you have located. You will also be able to receive manual responses from other recylers based on your search. When a search is being performed by another recycler for a part that is currently in your inventory, you will be notified by an automated message as well.

- Compass™ is a part locating tool using voice technology that is designed to connect salvage facilities in a geographic area for buying and selling automobile and light truck parts.
- This is a stand-alone tool that complements newer technology products.
- Just pick up the Compass phone and speak your part request. The other facilities on the network hear your request and answer you. A Monitor is listening to each request and will help you find the part if needed. The Monitor keeps a record of all transactions and conducts Roll Call each month.
